Still not convinced? Well, UFOlogists have analyzed the photos, and they're seeing hooves.

UFO blog Inexplicata has followed up on last week's report that a cow was spotted flying above Rosario, Argentina, until it was swallowed up by a flying saucer. The photo witnesses captured was a bit on the blurry side:

So Silvia Pérez Simondini and the UFO researchers at Visión Ovni have taken it upon themselves to analyze the photos further:

THE BOVINE
1) Objects shown in the images do not display digital manipulation in the adjoining pixels.
2) There is a correspondence between brilliance and angle regarding the light source (the sun)
3) In non-destructive super-resolution processes applied to the image, the animal turned out to be a bovine with its right side toward the camera, its head hanging to the left.
4) It can be deduced that the animal photographed in the air was either lifeless or in a deep stupor, judging from its observed condition.
5) We have managed to see its hooves, tail and head.
6) The 3d analysis is self-evident.

THE OBJECT:
1) In the opinion of this analyst, it had a diameter of between 8 to 10 meters and perhaps some 2.40 to 3 meters tall.
2) Some sort of beam was captured by the camera, and we perhaps cannot appreciate it in its entirety due to some sort of camouflage, subsequently corroborate by the account.
3) Applying filters, we can see that the UFO emitted perhaps high-ionization heat in its upper and lower sections.
4) Volumetric analysis shows that it was a disk-shaped object whose brilliance corresponded to that of the sun.
5) It is surrounded by some sort of triangular element and another circular one, or otherwise, plasma that the camera did not record in another shape.
6) I highlight that the resolution of the images generates a lot of noise in the captures and implies a greater processing time.
7) Insects were present in the photo shoot, but not in these 4 main ones.

There you have it. There's no sense in denying it any longer. Time to go home and lock up the cattle.

<![CDATA[Declassified Government Docs Reveal Secret British UFO History]]> Over 1,000 pages of government reports on UFO activity in Britain were revealed yesterday at the National Archives in Kew. They clearly indicate several famous sightings in the early 1990s were never solved.

The opening of this treasure trove of information on UFOs comes during an increase in reports of UFO sightings in England, including this one pictured above, snapped over London last week. The newly-declassified government reports cover UFOs reported between 1987 and 1993. While many of the sightings were proven to be caused by natural (or human-generated) phenomena, one incident in particular frightened the government a great deal and has never been solved.

This incident took place in 1990 over Scotland, where many witnesses spotted diamond-shaped ships [pictured] as well as military jets. According to The Telegraph:

The Ministry of Defence first became aware of the existence of the craft when the Daily Record newspaper presented it with six colour photographs of the object. The UFO seen by two men, one of whom captured it on camera, as it hovered in daylight near the A9, at Calvine, north of Pitlochry, on August 4, 1990.

The witnesses said it hovered for about 10 minutes – during which time military aircraft were also seen making a series of low-level passes – before moving upwards, out of sight, at great speed.

The files show that officials established from the photographs that the military craft were Harrier jets even though, intriguingly, none were operational in the area at the time.

An MoD minute prepared for the then Armed Forces Minister, Sir Archie Hamilton, and dated September 14, 1990 states: . . . "They [the photographs] show a large stationary, diamond-shaped object past which, it appears, a small jet aircraft is flying. The negatives have been considered by the relevant staff who have established that the jet aircraft is a Harrier (and also identified a barely visible second aircraft, again probably a Harrier) but have reached no definite conclusion regarding the large object." . . . The files show that a year after the original photographs were taken, the MoD tasked experts to produce line drawings of the UFO which would give officials an idea of scale.

Even the creation of the drawings was shrouded in strict secrecy. One undated document suggests "very special handling" because of "sensitivity of the material". It also orders "minimum handling by listed personnel".

The papers also include dozens of other unsolved reports that are definitely worthy of X-Files. Here's my favorite:

March 31, 1993: More than 100 people in the West Country and Ireland report seeing two brilliant objects with bright vapour trails flying North to South quickly and silently across the night sky - an episode now known to Ufologists as the Cosford Incident. Officials say some of the sightings may have a been a Russian Cosmos satellite re-entering Earth's atmosphere, but cannot explain away the sightings entirely. An official notes: "Personally I agree that while the decay of Cosmos 2238 might explain the high level 1.10am sightings, it would not explain the other sightings in the night in question."

As for all the UFO sightings in England right now, though, we all know it's that fly-headed alien in coveralls from the next Doctor Who special coming up.

<![CDATA[Ufology Flies Over The Ivory Tower]]> What can you do with a PhD in UFOs? Martin Plowman is about to find out. This Saturday, the University of Melbourne will award Plowman Australia's first-ever graduate degree in ufology. Do you wish you could write your thesis on flying saucers? Click through to see just what such a course of study entails.

Plowman, whose studies focus on culture and communication, has traveled around the world to investigate claims of extraterrestrial activity. But rather than attempt to determine the veracity of these claims, Plowman merely documents them and examines how culture and contemporary scientific understanding impact how people attempt to explain these phenomena:

"Having a look at it, I realised this was a whole world unto itself," he said. "It had rules, and ideas and history and it hadn't been looked at much, so my enthusiasm [for UFOs] came back and I thought this is a story that I want to look at."

He also discusses the experiences of people coming to terms with alleged alien abductions:

"They seem like something has happened to them…The first time you meet an abductee, as they are called, it can be quite confronting because they are trying to come to terms with it. They don't know what it is either, and it is something that can stay with people a long time."

We’ll get to see the culmination of Plowman’s research this November with the release of his book, High Strangeness: Uncertain Confessions of a UFOlogy-ologist.

<![CDATA[Mysterious New UFO Pics Probably from X-Files]]> A set of photographs depicting a beautiful, steampunk-looking UFO hovering over a small Northern California town are most likely from an X-Files viral marketing campaign. These images have zoomed across the web at lightspeed. Some of the first shots that made it onto the net last year showed this ship, pictured, which looks like something out of The Golden Compass. Just recently an anonymous person claiming to be with a "secret project" related to extraterrestrials released schematics of the ship online. Sounds like an X-Files stealth campaign or ARG (alternate reality game). Still, the schematics (below) look really freaking cool.

Here's a closeup up the ship.

And here are a couple schematics from "anonymous."

Please do let this be from the upcoming X-Files movie. Or even better, some other movie that I haven't heard about yet.
