Some of these look a littttttle more ridiculous than other AP stuff or La Perla or Le Petite Coquette. Were I to (ok, fine, when I) purchase these for a female on whom I would see them I probably would at least forgo showing the recipient of the gifts the ad campaign?
Definitely in favor of AP, despite the aforementioned cost. Some things I prefer not to skimp on.
Lingerie, German Sex dolls, sex of the future, True Blood, half-nude celebs...all on the front page. When did io9 become Fleshbot Jr.? Good thing I work from home or else I'd never be able to look at my favorite site!
I resent the implication that io9 readers are juvenile, sex-obsessed chauvinist pigs who think getting their other half to dress up like Princess Leia is synonymous with female empowerment.
On the other hand, Elmira is pretty as a picure...
...Admittedly, it's a racy picture from one of those magazines I've only ever read for the articles, but that's not important right now.
So who is this for? Do the girls go for these? I mean, I'm sure traditional males and non-traditional females find these appealing, but is it meant to be purchased for the partners, or does this lend a feeling of empowerment to the ones wearing it? Would any of the women here buy these for themselves?
@TemporalSword: I'm a woman, and I would definitely wear some of these. Most of them are way too much for me, but there are some styles that would make me feel empowered.
@TemporalSword: AP stuff is really expensive and really tiiiiny. So people who gots the cash would, I probably would if I could afford it. And if I could afford it I'd also be typing from my island retreat right now.
@Meredith Woerner: See, that's what I don't quite get... a guy wears a banana hammock and there are certain attributes that he is assigned, and not all of them are very complimentary.
@Meredith Woerner: Soooo...Meredith, strolling along the warm beach of an island retreat, wearing "Crystalina" above...um, what were we talking about again?
@crashedpc: The banana hammock is an urban legend we only remember from Borat and that sexual innuendo guy Todd from Scrubs.
I'm quite sure there is an etsy-shop selling the "Bullet" outfit. It's mostly magic marker and thread, even I could make that, and I can't tie my laces.
