    I see a couple of comments here feeling let down that this isn't a sign of intelligent life.


    Now wait a minute folks.


    This unexpected radio static is still very interesting and might tell us more about the early history of the universe. Cosmology is still reeling from the discovery of the cosmic acceleration a few years ago. This may or may not be on that level importance but every piece of new data helps us to be better judge which cosmological model best fits the facts.


    Learning more about how the universe works and where it came from is always exciting!
