    Wow. That guy won't be getting nominated for best VO at the 2010 VGA's. I sure hope the rest of the VO cast for STO isn't as deeply hooped up on valium as that guy was.

    What I don't understand is why the animation in the Clone Wars cartoon can't be this good, or the story be this... not cringe-inducing.

    Subjective, I guess, but this (and that last trailer, I guess for Force Unleashed I? I'm not a gamer) looks 100,000 times better than Clone Wars in all ways.

    @TwiceDead: Well, yes, but this really doesn't address what I said. Even if it's coming along quite nicely, compared to the Forces Unleashed, it gets a real meh. I mean, in my opinion.

    @Lassus: To me the Clone Wars fits in far more with the movies and GFFA than TFU. The Clone Wars speaks to the core of what Star Wars is - adventure serials. TFU seems to try and modernise Star Wars and bring it in line with modern expectations and therefore, in my view, loses the quinessential Star Wars quality.

    I'm guessing TFU2 is as follows: Following the events of TFU1, Starkiller has killed Vader, Obi-Wan, and Luke (according to the expansion content). The Emperor has replaced Vader with Starkiller.

    The galaxy is altered into something different from the Original Trilogy. While the rebellion exists it might be radically different from the events of TFU1. The rebellion's founders are under arrest by the Emperor. Luke and Obi-Wan are dead. Yoda does exist on Dagobah, and I'm guessing there's the opportunity for either:

    1) Starkiller to kill the Emperor, thus taking control over the Sith order and the Empire.

    2) Reform is ways under the tutelage of Yoda and be the backbone of the rebellion.

    @DarthVegan: Leia is trained by Yoda instead of Luke and takes out both Starkiller and the Emperor?

    I always thought Leia would be the better choice for "First New Jedi". She seemed to be the most level headed and sensible of the whole family.

    @RandomFrequentFlierDent: In the Infinities graphic novels, something like that happens. Luke dies on Hoth and Leia ends up going to Dagobah to be tried by Yoda.

    I can't remember what happened to Leia in TFU, at least in the "Dark Side" ending. In the "Light Side" ending, she helps found the Rebellion. I'm assuming she's under arrest, perhaps even secretly trained by Emperor to be Starkiller's replacement once he senses Leia's potential.

    See, one thing that has ALWAYS bugged me about Star Wars is the existence of the Light and Dark sides of the Force. It's like, sure, the Dark side is more seductive and easier to access, but really, I'd say that unless you're just a general asshole to begin with, if your intentions were pure, you could probably access it without any permanent addiction.
    Starkiller appears to have made the transition from angry Sith badnik to righteously pissed-off force of nature.

    Also, that thing made a Rancor squeal like a pig. In the words of Obi-Wan, "There's always a bigger fish..."

    @Smeagol92055: I was always under the assumption that by it's nature the dark side corrupts. Even if you try to use lightning and force choking in a good way, it'll eventually just make you bad anyway.

    @Aidan_: I'd like to throw the Republic Commando hat into the ring. It would go into the 'Best Star Wars game no one ever played' category, though.

    That's the sequel I want to see. I mean, the first one had a cliffhanger ending, and now that the books are cancelled, we'll never know what happens to Sev.

    @TheDarkWayne: Yep, they cancelled the second Imperial Commando book because Traviss's Mandalorian canon (which is pretty much the only one at this point, she made the kriffing language [I know she didn't make it, but she published it]) conflicts with the new one they're going to introduce in the TV show. The show's going to make a new pacifist faction of mandalorians, even though that makes no sense for their culture. But you know, whichever path makes the most money for Lucas is the one they go with.

    And it turns out she was contractually prohibited from telling us what happened to Sev, which is what gave me the most hope for a proper sequel.

    @agentgray: You hit it on the head. Spot on. All Lucas cares about these days is the money. Star Wars is his cash cow and he is gonna milk it for all it's worth. Story canon and history doesn't mean a damn thing if the price is right to him.

    The real issue of SW Canon is how he could be soooooo much more powerful than any other Force user that ever existed.

    @Jrsy Devil's Advocate®: In Battlefront 2 the "hunt" option for Naboo pits blaster carrying droids against Gungans. It's a massacre since the Gungans are armed only with grenades and they're more likely to blow up their collegues than anything else.

    It's an absurd amount of fun to run around mowing down Gungans with your friends while they scream things like "Wesa gonna lose!". Very satisfying.

    More Force unleashed. YAY

    Kinda bending up the story? ehhhhhh

    It was one of the better storys in Video Games IMHO. So this is interesting. I thought it took a sizeable amount of balls before in this sequel a year Gaming culture, to kill the lead protagonist at the end of a story. So the game better stay on point like icicles. Did anyone play the extended edition? was that story after his death?

    It looks to me like this game is going to be loosely based around the Batman: Cataclysm, Aftershock, and No Man's Land arcs, which I have to say is a perfect choice.

    They can easily pick and choose which story elements to keep, and I can totally see using the bit where Batman has to escape from the collapsed Bat Cave via the underground river as a training mission.

    The first game was great. Still, what it really proved about Batman is that he is pretty crappy at fighting crime. Every time he'd rescue somebody, he'd say "Stay put", wander off to punch somebody else, and then come back to find everyone dead.

    Batman: Soft on crime.
