@Klebert L. Hall: Mortal Kombat was a good action flick. It wasn't great cinema by any means, but it accomplished what it set out to do: give us a Hong Kong-style martial arts movie with Hollywood special effects.
Unfortunately, that's the only example I can think of of a video game movie that didn't completely bite, so probably not.

I doubt the Duke Nukem movie's more likely than Halo. I've been hearing about a Duke movie almost as long as I've been hearing about Duke Nukem Forever.
@The Curse of Millhaven: As Hello Mister pointed up there, what better base of humor than Monkey Island (or Maniac Mansion, or the Day of the Tentacle)? I know tons of people who would go to watch any of those.
@Driadon, the little mutant that could: Well, that's great, but I actually consciously raised the bar in the question from "not terrible" to "good/decent". ;-)
@Lassus: Well if you're going to be so particular in your wording, then I'd call both 'decent'. Silent Hill was awesome in atmosphere and effects making it a great popcorn movie with a nice sense of tension. Hitman, had it not been based on a game, could have been considered a good attempt at an action film, critically. Sadly, 90% of the reviewers decided to jump on the "OH IT'S BASED ON A GAME IS IT? WELL THEN IT'S SHIT!" bandwagon.
Its a shame movie>>films are normaly based purely on the success/sales of the game, not on the story.
There was once going to be an Eternal Darkness film, that would have been really great. Maybe even as a miniseries.
The Sands of Time film might be ok though, despite the casteing issues. The story/script of the game was superb, and the film script was go-written by the games writter.

Well, you might see them, but I doubt I will.
"The truth is, video game movies don't have to suck"
Do you have any evidence to support this assertion?

Wasn't The Rock attached to it, at one point?

Oh, and +1 to the calls for a Half-Life movie.
