So . . . classic = 'old enough that a bunch of people don't know about it therefore enabling empty-skulled Hollywood producers to recycle it', right? Well yay.

The original V was ridiculously, laughably BAD, just awful -- my whole family MSTed it before MST even existed, so from that perspective I guess it provided some entertainment. A remake though? Even with actors I like and respect, it's not likely to be any more than moderately bad, and that's just boring.

@GreyHammer: Yeah, I want to dispute this. The original two V miniseries are classics of science fiction and political allegory that were unsurpassed on television until the Battlestar reboot of the last few years. The V ongoing series, on the other hand, was a hokey, cheesy, sub-A Team serial that complete squandered all of the currency achieved in the original run. That is all.

"Oh, what's that, fans? There's a character who has experienced legitimate growth during her time on the show and has progressed from being an enigma to a fan-favourite? Too bad, because we're killing her off in a totally cliched way in a desperate grab for dramatic tension during the finale! Enjoy!"

I've noticed that male fans of Lost all seem to like Juliet, while the show's female fans all seem to hate her. At least that's the way it seems to play out amongst the Losties I know.

@ClockworkTiger: Not exclusively -- I do know women who liked her and men who didn't.

If your statement is true, it makes it even odder that she was killed, since TV shows (esp. drama and sci-fi) usually cater overwhelmingly to men.

Maybe she wanted to go? Get back to the mainland, try something different. It's not like she got written out for DUI like so many others did.
