Or something.

Spinning out from The Hero Chronicles video podcast, Captain Alpha Male expands the mundane superhero's universe to include a new cast of characters and more traditional sitcom format that make us wonder just what Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog has unleashed:

The second episode goes live on Thursday.

<![CDATA[Will Neil Patrick Harris Be Less Horrible in the Future?]]> We hope you haven't got your heart set on a Doctor Horrible sequel for Christmas, because, well, it sounds as if one isn't going to happen anytime soon - according to the Evil Doctor himself.

Talking to Sci Fi Wire, Neil Patrick Harris' disappointment about that fact rivaled even your own:

Oh, God, I wish I could say there was going to be a Dr. Horrible sequel, but I know there's so many people involved in the creation of it that have a lot of other stuff going on right now... Mainly, Joss [is doing] Dollhouse, and he has another movie, Cabin in the Woods, that he's doing at the same time. So I don't know that anything would happen soon. But everyone has been super-enthusiastic about it, and I think that means that hopefully something will come.

That hasn't stopped Harris from wanting to work with Whedon on something else, however:

I'm in CBS' corner right now because of How I Met Your Mother, so I don't know that I'd be able to [appear on Dollhouse], but I think it's produced by 20th Century Fox, so, you know, they're sort of cousins... That would be fun! All right. I'll ask Joss! I like being a cousin in the Whedon family, so, whatever he wants me to do. Except porn.

Wait, the Whedon family makes porn together? I'm not sure how I feel about knowing that.

<![CDATA[Bryan Singer's New Series Punishes The Net-Needy, Stupid]]> Superman Returns and X-Men director Bryan Singer is coming back to science fiction, with new project H+ - a web-series based around a future worst-case scenario for everyone who spends a little bit too much time online.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, H+, which will be produced by Singer's Bad Hat Harry Productions company for Warner Bros.' Warner Premiere line, started life as a television pitch by writers John Cabrera and Cosimo De Tommaso before being moved into the digital space. The series revolves around the aftermath of a future terrorist attack that has killed off a percentage of humanity — a percentage who chose to plug themselves directly into the internet. (Some would say that that decision right there was always going to lead to problems, and I can't say that I disagree too much).

With no director — Singer is expected to act as producer on the project only — or cast decided upon, the earliest date for the series' premiere is expected to be the latter half of 2009. By which point, we should all have connected ourselves directly with the world wide web in expectation of the project.

<![CDATA[Teen Becomes His Father's Freaky Experiment in IQ-145]]>
Thomas Dekker, also known as John Connor in the upcoming Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and previously known as Claire's best buddy Zach in Heroes, is going for a science fiction trifecta. He's starring in the web series IQ-145, which has the tagline "Where television couldn't go." We've got the trailer, and some intel about the show.

The logline for the series goes like this:

Son of a renowned, inventor/futurist father, who has mysteriously committed suicide; Nate Palmer (T. Dekker) is recruited by a secret organization to help search for his fathers last experiment... only to discover that he may be the experiment itself.

So it sounds like it might be a little bit of Kyle XY meets The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes mixed with the sometimes overused plot device of having a genius father die, and his son steps in to pick up the reins. You know, like the Green Goblin, except with less pumpkin bombing. The trailer doesn't look half bad, although we're not really sure why television couldn't go there. You can watch new episodes sometime soon on the IQ-145 website, which right now seems to be just showing us a manhole cover... or is that a vault door?]]>
