Unless these are screen grabs, in which case - bad io9! Not every frame is representative of the whole!

But if its from the updated full budgeted version, then yeah, you got a point, its not the best composition you'll ever see. But its cool.

Go back and look at the short film that it came from and you will see what I mean.

Why can't this movie and the short film stand separately and strongly? The short isn't being "ruined" by dialogue, this is a totally separate movie.

Yes, but it's still a very different medium. Let us not forget that the short did receive quite a bit of acclaim (no where near the amount a full length feature will get, but a lot for a short). The short existed well before this version, if people wanted to enjoy that in it's original form, they more than enough time to do so. As far as I can see, criticizing this film for having voice acting is silly. We've barely seen anything yet and people are already willing to put it out to pasture.
I say, go in with an open mind, you'll probably enjoy it. This movie looks great and it's not very often that we get a full-length, big (somewhat) budget, animated film that is willing to take risks.

Yeah, there was a ton of kids at Watchmen last week. Most of them didn't leave until the sex scene. Which is sad on many, many levels.

Where to begin? First he walks out with this shit eating grin and a "I'm so cool! I even say 'fuck'" personna. I mean he literally went out of his way to say "kick your balls up your ass." It was sad. What was even worse was him asking the audience if they wanted to see one of the actress' from T:S's boobs in the movie. He made her stand up and do a twirl!
Ugh.

McG and Bale on the same set sounds so much more interesting now.

Besides, there's already a Super Evil genius that has won my heart -- and his name is the Monarch.
