    Yep, Chewie is the real hero of Star Wars, organizing the Ewoks to enable taking out the shield generator; otherwise it's all for nothing. But Luke did serve as an important diversion: if he hadn't been around, the Emperor might have paid more attention to what was going on down on The Forest-Moon of Endor (that's its name, you have to say all that every time- "The Forest-Moon of Endor").


    I didn't even know that half of these characters had names, until I read this thread. And then I wished I still didn't know. What kind of a name is Mon Mothma? Lobot, is that anything like "robot"? Egad.

    @txtracer: Mon Mothma is a wonderful name. Her sister Gon Godzirra is also lovely. You should see their place in Ton Tokyho.


    Lobot is indeed a little like "robot." More importantly, he is a smidgen more than one half of "lobotomy."

    So, we're all fine with all the Dagobah scenes. Really? We all loved the lame-ass New Age blather from a jumped up sock puppet? Nobody wanted to see Luke wrestle a three-headed giant frogbatduck?


    Luke: "Gee Master Yoda, you're 800 years old and served in the capital of the Republic with this groovy wise knowledge stuff--and thanks for all that but I picked up all that junk from The Learning Annex and some show with Bill Moyers. Anyhoo, why do you still talk like an ESL dropout? Is it all those 'shrooms you keep munching?"


    Yoda: "From you such insolence! I frogbatduck summon will the. In the cage we will settle this!!"
