    From where I stand, Scifi is just a silly term to begin with. I was never one of those people who insisted on referring to the genre as "SF" instead, but I also recognize that it's kind of a ridiculous word. Respelling it just highlights how ridiculous it was to begin with.


    Also, "Syfy" looks like a street name for a venereal disease.

    "Once BSG ends, its all over" - scifi channel is dead, and the best they could come up with is BSG's version of the Enterprise prequel (ugh) and a watered-down Stargate which is intentionally aping BSG.


    (sigh)


    Further....one of the things I think is funny is that MOST of the promotions for like BSG and stuff happens in California, close to where they're producing it.


    But essentially all of the io9 staff and specifically the entire core editorial staff is in the New York City area; that's why we're the shining Emerald City center of human civilization, and don't let anyone tell ya different!! :)
