I don't get why they even feel the need to connect Cyclops in this story it just kinda shows that they only care about Wolverine's back story and will add little easter eggs there. Do they even know what young Cyclops was doing before he joined the X-Men? he and his Brother were being toyed with by Mr. Sinister in a lab. I really hope that they'll stop making X-men movies if they're not going to at least try to respect all the characters instead of just Wolverine. I mean he was the main character of three X-Men movies and gets a spin off.

@NessaBattus: It's really all about fan service. Except not fan service in the normal way, where they stick to the rules, but fan service to the casual fanbase who wants to see lots of characters.

I think they can make it work. It's a bit much, but I think it can be done (then again, I said the same thing about Spider-Man 3).

"Every hero has an origin...but usually we cover that in the first film he or she appears in. But this time we totally didn't, because we didn't actually realize that he was the main draw for most people. Although we probably should have. Can we be frank here? We can? Great. Basically we're asking you to forget the X-Men movies altogether (especially that third one - blech!), and pretend this is the very first time you've ever heard of Wolverine. Cause that's probably how we would have done it in the first place if we knew then what we know now."

also, i liked x-men 3. then again, i never read any of the comics and loved the 90's cartoon show as a child.

@Syrax: Not really. Suspension of disbelief is a very fragile thing in movies, especially action movies, and the viewers are already asked to swallow said man running around with metal claws. The rest of the fiction needs to work reasonably around this fallacy. A man with metal claws only becomes ridiculous when physics no longer applies to anything he touches.

Or when he uses the claws to somehow slingshot himself around the Statue of Liberty.

I would not really have any problem if this whole movie was just fights and Deadpool jokes.

The best thing about trolls is there ability to be snarky about products/things that they haven't seen or played. I would say nicely done, if it wasn't a "fail". Considering no one has seen this movie yet, and it's less than 3 months away, I'd say your point is moot.

@Sammo21: We can only praise unreleased movies now? When did this site transmogrify into trekmovie.com? It's really no less valid to say "I believe that unreleased movie will be crappy" than it is to say "That unreleased movie will no doubt be awesome." I'm cautiously optimistic about "Watchmen." I have a bad feeling about this one. Oh, and the Wachowski Superman will suck, too.

@cletar: it's not an either or thing, there are options that don't include reviewing movies you haven't seen. your analysis is spot on, saying something is good before you see it is the same as saying it will be bad before you see it. however, you leave out the third option, commenting directly on the subject at hand instead of making broad claims about sites unseen.

Am I the only one who is annoyed that us fans had to wait a few decades before they gave out his background which, lets be honest wasn't that spectacular, and then the movie going public gets it in the first Wolverine movie? (unless you count X-Men 1,2,3 which were kinda Wolvie movies in their own right)

Oh, and is Cyclops in this because there is a quick shot of a guy spinning around with light coming out of his eyes in the ads for the ads that Fox has been running? I only ask because I thought that Cyclops/Marsden got the bums rush in the movies only because he played the ,stuck up, by the book, kinda annoying, Scott Summers the way he was supposed to be.
