I've always enjoyed Cohen's films with a grain of salt and occasionally he's really good/bad like with xXx and Fast and Furious but too often he is a big budget Uwe Boll as anyone who has seen Dragonheart or Mummy 3 can attest to. Wait... they both had dragons hrm. Maybe that's the problem!!!
Wait, no Stealth had no dragons and was still a pile of shit even with super planes and Jessica Biel.
Point is. This franchise can continue but hand it off to someone like the Crank guys to just go crazy with it because that is all that made xXx2 enjoyable.
It's all karma for xXx - you can't go around thinking you can take out James Bond as the world's #1 spy just because you've got a go-go-gadget muscle car, Xtreme sports, and some pop culture references...
@TemporalSword: Yeah, but those kinds of movies do great at the box office due to their at-the-moment appeal. Which is probably why studios have to keep releasing new ones in order to keep the public aware. My friend works at Dreamworks and he says they pretty much have the graphics down to a grindmill level now, and they're just working on the jokes. Sigh. Go Pixar!
Well, in my opinion, there are very few actors that make you forget that they are the actors playing the part. This is not to say that they're good or bad actors, simple that it takes a special performance to allow an actor... any actor... to transcend their identity and become their role. Vincent Price was a excellent actor, but he was always "Vincent Price." Sir Anthony Hopkins, and actor of similar range and quality however was "Hannibal Lector" (Or for a more up-to-date counter point, Heath Ledger *was* The Joker as opposed to Jack Nicholson *playing* The Joker )
Now, I happen to be among the minority that likes Vin Diesel. The man takes/creates roles within his range, and kudos to him for doing so. I don't think you'll ever see him playing Hamlet. Riddick, Toroop, and Xander Cage are his "meat-n-taters" roles and he's smart enough to know to play to his strengths.
If only others in Hollywood would figure that out *coughcoughSETHROGENcough* 8D
Third, I'm afraid, but the second Diesel XXX. Perhaps all his movies should be his name with the movie name following as a subtitle with sequel subtitles following as a sub-subtitle. For instance:
Vin Diesel: XXX 3: Right To Bear Arms.
The sub-subtitle of course could refer to both his use of arms in the movie (although actual gun use seems fairly rare in his roles) and his massive, shaved-bear like arms.
I enjoy vin diesel as much as the next guy (ok, a lot more) but what exactly makes xXx sci-fi? I mean, it's got ocassional spy-tech, but I mean...it just feels like a bit of a stretch.

@AngryEddy: My dad knows every single 007 movie, and he still refuses to acknowledge the existence of Timothy Dalton.
