@c0dek: Actually, much like Barack Obama's speech patterns are designed to hypnotize listeners through neuro-linguistic programming, Bush's speech habits/patterns were changed by his control agents from the NWO and the finance oligarchs, to what you heard during his Presidency. No, I don't believe that.
@Dr Emilio Lizardo: For some reason, I read that as Nukulear Weasel.
Speaking of the Herculoids, I just caught up with some showings on my DVR of The Secret Saturdays and it was hard not to notice that this is a throwback to the Herculoids - which makes it totally awesome!
eBay was my (very expensive) friend to get this DVD. I saw it for sale at Tower Records when it was first released, said, I don't really have $20 now. Then, a couple years later, paid ~$200 on eBay for it. Because (a) I'm a dork and (b) I love me some Little Shop.
@Antediluvian: It was circulating in Borders warehouses for years after the recall. When the movie was reissued on DVD a couple of years later sans extras, a number of the '98 vintage discs ended up on the shelves.
Well, I know one reason they changed it -- that ending goes on WAY, WAY too long! Okay, plants eating the city, got it. I didn't need to see the same damned fx shot of bricks exploding from a wall, or running feet, or reaction shots of extras for the fourth or fifth time.
While I don't particularily like seeing Rick Moranis meet such an unfortunate end, this ending is certainly more interesting than the original "happy" ending. There are two probable reasons why this ending didn't make the cut.
1) Completing the original version would have put them over budget in some way (damn catering).
2) This ending didn't test well with audiences, so they changed it.

And this is their FIFTH album, so there's a lot more where that came from.
(Disclaimer: I've been friends with the band for years. But they really are that good.)

"Gotta Make it So" is possibly the best pump up song ever.

In the musical, that sort of thing isn't really feasible, so it's just the chorus singing the song.

Gotta love Frank Oz's temp laughter at the end of the second clip.

Never saw the movie either, but we did the musical in high school.
