Something about just reading the words "Zero Theorem" makes me wonder if "Anathem" is on it's way to any kind of production in the future. It's one of his tighter stories, actually. Am I a loon to think it's one of the most visually translatable?
@hectorbustnuts: Yeah, I had assumed they were going to clarify that they were waiting for a 'return to form' or something, after some disappointing work in the last few years. But they seem to just think he hasn't done any work in the last decade? What?
"I have a feeling Parnassus will be an interesting movie rather than a great movie. "
Has there ever been a Gilliam movie that wasn't the same? They've never been great, sprawling masterpieces. He isn't as pretentious as that. He'll do what he wants to do, because he never seems to care about revenue. Honestly, they wouldn't be as good otherwise. If some suit had been breathing down his neck in Time Bandits, *Spoilers, y'all* his parents probably wouldn't have exploded in the end.
I couldn't live in a world without exploding neglectful parents.
@ThisDudeRufus: I would say both Time Bandits and Brazil are *great* movies. In my book, Munchhausen and 12 Monkeys are both good movies. Everything else he's done -- especially since he moved to Hollywood -- has been interesting.

Intellectual wankage with wacky visuals is still wankage.

Yes, you are a loon. But I love you for dreaming.

What about "Brothers Grimm" and "Tideland"?
