Tonight, Disney XD aired the first seven minutes of the upcoming show Star Wars Rebels. And the introduction of the main character, Force-sensitive Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray), rang a lot of Aladdin bells.

It might be the way he casually makes off with fruit that does it, or the floppy hair, or the general "street rat" vibe, but there's something about Ezra that is very Aladdin-like here. Plus, we then started singing "One Jump Ahead" in the ensuing chase scene, which also worked surprisingly well.

It's a good look at Ezra, even if we only get a short look at the crew of the Ghost that we know Ezra ends up with. Although, the brief glimpse at Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) was also fun. It also looks great and we're as cautiously optimistic as ever about this venture. Even if this short clip didn't showcase the Empire nearly enough.
