The market has spoken! Atlas Shrugged Part 3 comes out next year!S

This is the best news today. The first two installments of the Atlas Shrugged trilogy are a source of endless campy fascination, especially Esai Morales' performance in the second. So we're beyond thrilled that the third movie has gotten a green light, because men of genius cannot be suppressed.

According to the press release, the third movies comes out in the summer of 2014. And here are more details:

Atlas Shrugged Part 3, the third and final installment of the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy, has been officially greenlit with principal photography to begin later this year.

The movie trilogy follows the three-part structure of Ayn Rand’s epic 1957 novel, ATLAS SHRUGGED. Atlas Shrugged Part 3 takes place in a near future dystopian United States with the nation's economy quickly approaching collapse. While overreaching government regulations persist in strangling the country's few remaining entrepreneurs, society’s most productive continue to mysteriously disappear. One man has the answer. Some will stop at nothing to control him. Others will stop at nothing to save him. Who is John Galt?

I guess this means the John Galt speech from the book won't be a whole movie by itself, as some had speculated. Still, this is such exciting news. And before anybody accuses us of being partisan here — if someone made a bloated, contrived trilogy in which heroic liberals fight against a completely implausible right-wing dystopia, we would mock that with equal vigor. In fact, I hope George Soros bankrolls such a trilogy, because I'm dying to see it.
