Using 600 photographs collected by its Mars Express orbiter, the European Space Agency has given us a brief but captivating glimpse of what it will look like for a human to orbit Mars. If we ever get there, that is.

The images were captured by the orbiter's Visual Monitoring Camera (VMC) during a single, complete 7-hour orbit of the Red Planet on May 27th, 2010. The video's been released in a few forms since then, but this "new and enhanced" view was released in anticipation of the VMC's latest batch of images.
