When Underwater Volcanoes Erupt

Deep beneath the ocean near the Pacific island Tongatapu, a volcano erupted last month, spewing steam, ash, and smoke 100 meters into the air. We've got a gallery of this monstrous, watery explosion.

The explosion took place 6 miles off shore, and nobody on the island was hurt.
