Jess Fink's webcomic Chester 5000 XYV is a pornographic sexbot tale with a twist: a Victorian gentleman builds a robot to satisfy his sexually voracious wife, but wife and well-endowed automaton fall deeply (and, of course, passionately) in love. More »

It's Twitter as Ada Lovelace would have imagined. To conserve characters and keep transmissions private, Victorians often wrote their telegrams in code. Refer to this handy list to make your tweets more efficient and confuse your friends. While steampunkers imagine that Edwardian technology could achieve improbable feats, Edwardians themselves often did the same. These turn of the century postcards depict a glorious future where phenomenal technologies are powered by electricity and steam. More »

The London Science Museum finally completed work on the Victorian era's greatest supercomputer, the Difference Engine No. 2, 120 years after the death of inventor Charles Babbage. This five-ton machine is currently traveling across the pond to San Francisco, and will go on display in America for the first time starting May 10th at the Computer History Museum. Find out everything you wanted to know about Charles Babbage and his wonderful engines in today's triviagasm. More »

The big screen version of the Justice League of America has been put on hold and sent back to the drawing board. Plus, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie was fairly craptastic. But pretend, for a moment, that the two projects collided in your imagination and the resulting movie kicked ass. Got it? Now imagine that it had some even more kick-ass action figures to go with it. Stop pretending and feast your eyes on the gallery below. More »
