While the whole internet is squabbling over who will be the next Ant-Man director (now that Edgar Wright has parted ways with Marvel) another piece of news has dropped: Alleged Ant-Man director hopeful Ruben Fleischer may direct an even bigger franchise, Ghostbusters 3.
In the middle of a report about the hopefuls waiting to fill the Ant-Man director's chair, The Wrap dropped this bomb:
"Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer is also in the mix for the high-profile job, but he just had a baby with his wife, publicist Holly Shakoor Fleischer, and may be reluctant to take a demanding gig that will require such a big commitment. He's also being considered to direct "Ghostbusters 3" for Sony, for whom he directed "Zombieland" and "30 Minutes or Less," though that project isn't heading into production nearly as soon.
Well, well, well... I guess if this movie must be made, Fleischer already does have a pretty good relationship with Bill Murray and a nice ear for comedic tone. We would all still rather this movie be crated and shelved in the Hollywood "no no" tomb, but we probably won't be that lucky.
