Very true indeed, but Malcolm Mcdowell did have a couple of classic roles in A Clockwork Orange and Caligula.
It's too bad there wasn't more imagination put into this movie, or maybe it just wasn't translated properly from the book, if there was one. Instead of totally ripping off old movies, there is so much more that could have been done with this concept. Why not have a modern day version of Braveheart, where the Scots once again rise up against overwhelming odds to invade southern England, now that would make for a good story.

also, the part with the car going into the city and the chick coming out of the car, very Aliens-ish. so it seems this film could be good simply because instead of trying to create an original story the writer/director simply took his favorite parts from every scary scifi film ever made and inserted them here.

its his version of a Be Kind Rewind sci fi film, if you will.
