Obviously, the advertising department put together a "spoiler" that was close enough to the plot to get people interested in seeing the movie, yet sufficiently wrong to preserve whatever surprise the film contains.

This could even have been done to effectively squelch any more substansive leaks by poisoning the internet with an "official", definitive spoiler.
