NJUDAH: Yeah. I've been waiting for such a series since HILL STREET BLUES, and once I got used to the fact that ST:TNG wasn't it. (It was that parasite shrimp taking over StarFleet Command ep.) BG gets close, but they're necessarily erratic.

pink_clerical_collar

@Jonn: Barrowman's not American, but he did spend half his childhood in the States. And it's not like every other sci-fi TV show (well, except for Chuck, maybe) doesn't have a Briton pretending to be American.

RocktheDebit

I've tried to become a fan of Torchwood, but aside from a few episodes, I found it to be full o' melodrama without any payoff, plotwise. Yeah yeah I know Capt. Jack bla bla bla and Dr. Who spinoff yadda yadda yadda, and I thought Capt. Jack was cool in that original Doc Who episode he was in, but it just feels like when I watch an episode on OnDemand ,that 45 minutes feels like two hours.

But since the big media companies would rather stick it to our writers than cut them in on a fair deal, I guess it'll do, esp. since I just finshed seasons 1-4 of The Wire on DVD....if someone would make a scifi show like that that would be like, awesome or something.

njudah

So Barrowman, who is a Scottish-American playing an American, fights Marsters, who is an American playing an Englishman, and both are in a show that's a spinoff of Doctor Who, which stars a Scotsman pretending to be an Englishman.

@Mercurypdx: Chuck had better ratings than Journeyman for sure. As for Bionic Woman, it started out with way better ratings than Chuck, then went into freefall. By the time the last ep of Bionic Woman aired, I think it was below Chuck, which was staying steady.

Charlie Jane Anders

Unless you take the title of Scott Baio Is 46... And Pregnant literally, which would make it sci-fi-ish.

Soon to be followed by Scott Baio is 47... and divorced, Scott Baio is 48... and still desperately in need of attention, and "Scott of Love" seasons 1, 2 and 3.

Also, did Chuck really have better ratings that the Bionic Woman and Journeyman? Really? Sigh...

MercuryPDX
