@charliejane: A fair explanation. But really, anyone who's seen the movie will know that isn't from it, so including a picture of a toy for the sake of looking cool seems a bit pointless.
I hope you don't continue to place awesome pictures above genuine content... I think this blog has excellent potential, but you carry on making rookie mistakes and write articles with poorly researched information in them.
I think your mission statement needs shaking up a bit. But I honestly have faith.

As @Agro points out, Kevin never claimed that was the monster. And his post expressed a healthy degree of skepticism that that weird-looking thing is even part of the toy set, which it sounds like it isn't. I actually think we've been very good about not revealing the monster's appearance on our front page. Part of our mission here on the blog is to have cool-looking images with every post, so at some point you have to cut us a teeny bit of slack to post images that are relevant to a story without worrying that they might possibly depict a minor detail from a movie that's been out for five days. We're being super careful about spoilers, but we also want the blog to look cool and interesting.

Attention geniuses who have seen the film and are complaining that that doesn't look like the monster, that's meant to be one of the "parasite" creatures that were attached to the main monster's body. And no, it doesn't look like the parasites from the movie because it's noted that there will be ten different types in the collection. Some I suppose that were not shown in the film. Lordy, am I the only person who passed basic reading comprehension here?

That is not at all what the monster looks like, not even close actually, and Hasbro hasn't even released any imagery of what the toy looks like.

Dunno what that is, but it's misleading.

I would expect the writers here that have seen the film to be able to see the difference between the monster on the film and that toy. There's no way you guys think that's really it, do you?
