Wow, I wasn't aware until I read this article that I was required to hate a character. I've never really formed negative opinions of any of the characters on the show, because I like the show. Usually the characters I hate reside on shows that I don't watch...I kinda thought that was the point.

It really does amaze me that people claim to like the show, and then just constantly talk shit and complain. If you hate something or find it stupid, why do you take the time to watch to watch the show, and then come on the internet and complain?

Seriously, every point in this article is retarded. The show is about change, expanding and adapting yourself to eventually reach enlightenment. All characters have been going through significant personality changes, so what makes Kate any different? I think you are a bit misguided if you think the change in her character was purely based on sex appeal and male viewership.

I think the author needs to keep her writing and her own insecurities separated. This article is biased, and each point the author makes is just her hating on the women on the show. I'm very sorry if you feel threated by attractive women, but it's not the writer's fault at all.

WARPLAYER

I thought that the stupidest part by far was Ben shaking the cage and "killing" the bunny only to later find out he gave it a sedative. I cannot believe how lame that was. That said, the final episodes in Season 3 have been amazing and I for one can't wait to see Season 4.

Y3ll0wJack3t

@The illest wind:
Um, yeah, it's true. Women are weaker than men. Check out Olympic sports, all female competitors in sports have lower standards than male competitors. Check out weight lifting. Pole vaulting. Marathon. 100m dash. Swimming. Even in agility sports like diving, men have the best moves.

I'm not saying women are inferior to men, we're all equals as far as human beings go, just that women are weaker physically. Yes, males of other species are more solitary, and that's why female lions are to be feared even more than males, because females often hunt in packs instead of solo, but then again humans have learned to adapt those tactics in the male population as well. So we got physically abler PLUS pack mentality. A winning combination.

JesusDeSaad

When Lost is bad, it's HORRIBLE. Asking me to pick out my least favorite moments is a seriously daunting task! I thought the climax of the second season was completely nonsensical (Michael killing Ana Lucia and Libby - as if he had no other alternative; the "women who have sex will die" moments with Shannon and Ana Lucia; Jack being constantly obnoxious and saying he had a "plan", which was basically just getting captured by the Others). I'm surprised no one has mentioned Charlie's miracle resuscitation at the hands of Jack in Season 1! I could go on and on, but I try not to think about these things too much or else I just get angry at how inept Lost can be. I absolutely loved the first season, but started growing bitter in Season 2, and Season 3 just clinched it for me. The stretch of 6 episodes when Jack/Kate/Sawyer were captured was the most boring thing ever. Admittedly, the last stretch of episodes of Season 3 were fun again, but I've already learned to keep my expectations low (and get used to one dimensional characters) when it comes to Lost.

tiemposbuenos

See, I always thought only women hated Juliet. I have male friends who think she's the hottest part of the show, but my female friends and I are of the opinion that her bitter, puckered-in little face is waiting for a sucker-punch. I really hope they kill her off. However, she did play a crackwhore nun with a copper IUD in an episode of HOUSE, so I just think of that whenever she's on the screen.

And oddly enough, I sorta liked the Paulo/Nikki episode. I'm one of the assholes who has always wondered who the other survivors were, so it was fun to take an episode and see the show through their eyes. And then bury those eyes.

Juba

I thought they were really hallucinations. That was a pretty cool part of the island. But it turns out it's not a part of the island. It's a part of the smoke monster. And Echo only got written out cause his actor wanted out... But I guess there's gotta be some wiggle-room in this great master script.

The illest wind

Why do you think women have almost always taken a subservient role in societies? We all know they're not inherently weaker than Males, so what's going on? I'll tell ya what's going on. Men grab all the good jobs when women are stuck in child birth and rearing. And people stick with the jobs they've been given.

I dislike Expose for what it is, but it's the last terrible episode. Everything after that is purpose-driven and awesome. I would also agree that Lost needs to be a little less sexist, but I think the baby-bearing has something to do with the mythology. Something along the lines of them waiting for a messiah to be born.

stirrader

Seeing Nikki and Paolo getting buried alive was the best part of that episode, but everything surrounding it was stupid. It was like CSI: Lost. I think it would have been better to see them getting buried alive, but dig their way out an episode later. Ok. It may have been stupid, but kind of mind-bendingly awesome too.

Like, OMG, how'd they come back?

stirrader
