And then I thought that Stallone would be making THE most darin decision by a major actor. Think about it: starring in a major hollywood movie while never showing your face. carrying a movie with just your jaw! in the comics you never see dreads face. he's always wearing a 3/4 face helmet.
Then of course the movie came out and what a complete crap fest...
flying motorcycles... what better vehicle to jump the shark.
This movie tanked. And it deserved it.
I was hoping for a whole set of sequals....until I saw the movie..

Seeing as how this entry has created a fair amount of "my sci-fi is better than your sci-fi" nerd talk I think it's doing quite well ;)

Having said that, here's my opinion: I think I would have replaced 'most' with 'justly' in the headline. Not that it was the worst movie ever, as the props and costumes were cool and Stallone did make a good Dread (looks-wise) with his helmet on, but it fell victim to one too many Hollywood cliches. :/

What makes movies this painful is that it had a great concept with a loyal following, a seriously nice cast beyond its meathead star (Max Van Sydow!?! I distinctly remember a couple who brought a four-year-old into the flick, and during the "rip that guy apart with a robot" sequence, the kid flipping the hell out. And yet, the parents refused to take their young child out of the theater.
Judge Dread is many things, but a complex plot where not detail should be missed to take care of your traumatized child out of the theater for 5 minutes is not one of them.

Stallone and Schneider asside, the rest of the cast was quite good, and I secretly dug the ABC Robot. But 90 minutes of Stallone and Schneider would kill my opinion of anything.
