(And we all know that Jean will be back... since she pretty much a part of the Phoenix or IS The Phoenix, so she can't really ever die now can she ;)) Because Scott was there from the beginning and Wolvie was just an add-on when Marvel decided to revamp the book and brought Wolverine out of Hulk limbo land.

However, to say that Scott's love life problems are worse than Logan's is ignoring a lot of Wolverine's history. Sure, Scott lost his love, married her clone, had a child that got infected with a virus and sent to the future, lost his wife, regained his love, pressed the button that potentially killed his son and his son's clone, saw his son again, lost his wife, engaged in a telepathic affair, lost his wife again but had her basically put Scott and Emma together, lost his son again, found that his son was alive but possibly a traitor, and then lost his mentor. Well, that's more than his love life - that's his emotional life minus his brothers. But Logan has a long, complex history that he only recently - over the last few years - has come to remember. That has to be a terrible feeling, knowing that you've led this long life but don't have any idea where you've been and what you've done. He's lost loves. He's lost family. He's been a killing machine. He's survived a painful process to augment his skeleton with adamantium. He had adamantium yank out through his pores. He's had to watch the woman he loves be with a man that he simply cannot be. He's seen her die. He's seen the man she chose over him simply move on - TWICE! And he knows that should she ever come back, she'll still choose Scott over him. Wolverine is a very complex and interesting character if you really pay attention to him - but the spotlight they put on this character and the simplicity of his characterization from book to book (thanks to the fact that his character development is probably stalted by his healing factor, just like his age) makes him terribly boring for most of us.

I grew up reading The X-Men when Wolverine, Storm, Banshee and Thunderbird and Colossus were all added to the team, and I can Tell you they were all of interest, all good characters and everyone on the team was spotlighted like any good ensemble would be.

Its really cheapens the franchise to call a series Wolverine and The X-Men... thats basically saying the Wolverine really isn't a member of the X-Men... hes just hanging out with them.

For my money Scott has always been the most complex member of the team,and his love life problems have certainly been worse than anything Wolverine has ever faced.
