It isn't as awesome as you remember, but just because there are some very slow parts and it was Disney's response to Star Wars's Effects. They did it with the old school crew and old school effects and it shows on DVD. You respect the artistry, but you immediately realize why Star Wars was what it was. I suggest you go rent it, cause it is still awesome. And for the record I just bought the Movie on Record thing and it is massively useful as a transition when making mixes.

But it rocked when I was a kid. I also had the Disney "Book/tape" thing (you know, turn the page when you here the ringing noise) that had the sound effects for the way cool double barreled guns during the escape from the Cygnus. I played that bit over and over as background for countless action figure battles.
