@Plague: I agree with you on The Crow, but Dark City is an excellent scifi film. The set design is so good it threatens to eclipse the great performances (especially by Sutherland) and the excellent cinematography - so good that much of it was re-used for The Matrix (along with some of the camera work, but that's another story).

Incidentally, it looks like Proyas is also a writer on an adaptation of The Tripods (from the BBC series). [imdb.com]

ever time i try to think about this movie my mind says 'time-capsule that predicts the future' and reboots.

it's like nick has some sort of plot mad libs book for all of his movies. what's next? a movie about a 'hair dryer'(noun) that can 'teleport'(verb) and causes a 'stock market crash'(natural dissaster) which nick trys to stop while overcoming 'lupslipophobia' (irration fear or strange condition).

Proyas has been coasting on props for The Crow and Dark City forever.
Neither of which was actually any GOOD, once you get past the nice set design.
But, like that abomination I, Robot (which made cash because of Will Smith), this will make money because of Nic Cage.
Well, the first weekend, at least.
