Separately but related, quotes are not exact -

Obie vs Darth:

Obie leaves only cloak behind when light sabered by Darth:
Jesus leaves cloak behind when brought back to life by "The Force" after being struck down(crucified). Obie uses force to talk to Luke and appear to him, keep himself from being whisked away too soon. Guides Luke through it all. Jesus stays behind to appear to his disciples after Mary finds only his cloak left behind.
Guides them through it all.

Both sets of disciples greatest weapon(Star Wars and Bible): Love for each other. (Activates the good side of the force).

Other similarities but the mentioned one caught me by surprise. Not to mention the emperor fooling everyone into not noticing him until it's too late(Anti-Christ).

Intellectual property is a tattered sad joke in this brave new world and there's no going back. In my industry I see printed collateral very day rife with art and copy lifted from the magical interweb. To my shame I assist my customers with this -- A logo or illustration here, an excerpt from an article there -- it all adds up.
I sincerely hope the parties involved here can settle this amicably. They are both quite talented and deserve something for their ingenuity and labor.
One wonders what Da Vinci would have made of all this./

If you knee jerk reaction haters click through to his site, he mentions that it costs him $87 to print. Figure he'll tack shipping on top of this, and he's making a pittance for the work. It strikes me as more of a fan homage than anything else.
$100 for a very original piece of art (regardless of how it's derived) is a pretty good deal. If I liked SW enough and had the wall space, I'd buy it.

To all who commented here:

I'm not selling the poster at all, nor have I sold a single copy yet. Until I obtain the appropriate licenses, this is a personal project.

Thanks to whoever notified Eric Deschamps, I enjoyed speaking with the person who inspired this mosaic for me, and smoothed everything over. I never knew who actually made the original painting so I couldn't credit them, but I have now on my website (right at the top)

Thanks to all for leaving words for me, I'm really too happy that this has become so much better than I could have imagined.

FYI, Sales are HIGHLY unlikely, but if somehow I do manage to get licenses to sell it, it's also very likely it'll be over the top expensive to cover royalties.

What the hell?

You realize he didn't paint this originally right? There was a lot of work that got put into 'mosaic'ing this, but the illustrator who did this (and the client he did it for) might have something strong to say about someone making money off of their work.

IO9, I would suggest taking this down.

Eric Deschamps [www.ericdeschamps.com] did this for Giant Mag. Its not on his website, but I belong to a community where he posts and remember when he posted it. Consider him contacted.
