Own B2&B3 not too bad, sure they didnt change my life but they are great comic books on film, thats all I wanted thats all I get :) Same with Ultraviolet, guy was givin me crap for watchin the movie but all I wanted from it was Milla kickin butt to music! I just wish theyd used her in AeonFlux!!

Blade 2 was surely one of the awesome vampire movies ever! I fell in love with the idea of a day walking vampire that kicked ass. And Blade 2 took it to that awesome level of tech and bad kungfu-ery.

Blade 3 was so much better than 2! Sure, Blade 2 had Cat from Red Dwarf which was cool to see, but other than that it was 90 minutes I regret.

Blade 3 had sarcastic humor provided by the wit of Ryan Reynolds, and the eye candy which was Jessica Biel. NOT Posey! Plus that Draco guy is the dude from Prison Break.

Blade 2 was awesome... however the script did lift it's characters straight out of the new Vampire Hunter D movie, if you can bring yourself to stomach japanese animation these days, it's worth a watch.

@1369ic: And YES! FINALLY someone else points out the serious flaw with Blade 2. Novack was great. The premise brilliant. But the ending was horrific. Shudder. And I love Whistler, but they definitely copped out in how they brought him back. I mean, would it have killed them to spend those few minutes in the intro thinking of something that made even a little bit of sense?

I like all three Blade movies, but I think they went downhill as the numbers got higher. Blade 2 was good overall, and had some great moments. I especially liked the actor who did Nomak, and I can't wait to see how he does as the Elf Prince(?) in Hellboy II. The killer was the ending, though. First where in the wide blue banana did they get that crap about how Nomak killed the vampire king? A whole new circulatory system with green slime that is a vampire's life force? Towards the end of the second movie they come up with that shit? And the scene where the girl burns up in Blade's arms is horse hockey as well. Every other vamp screams and goes batshit, but she passes quietly because Blade is there? Come on. Of course, the ending was good enough for 30 Days, too, so maybe I'm wrong.

The other big problem is that, after the attack on Blade's HQ, the blood pack turns into a bunch of normal guys. This happens in all those movies (and even worse in Underworld) where the vamps don't show any special physical ability, or, as in Underworld, get their asses handed to them every time a werewolf gets his mitts on them (except Selene and Viktor, of course). I guess you can't keep raising it up a notch, but it takes the bite out of the genre if they've got to have a gun to actually kill anybody.

Underworld was a 3 minutes of a cool music video about vampires spliced into an hour and a half of crap.

Blade2 was fun if only for the presence of Ron Perlman, and of course Wesley Snipes is always cool.

I'm in the "it sucked arse" camp. Whistler was dead before the end of the first film, dead and gone. He wasn't undead he was just plain dead. Then in Blade 2 he's back? Come on! MAJOR plothole. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I need to rewatch it with an open mind. Maybe I'm full of shite who knows. I thought Blade 3 was fun, and I liked Hellboy.

I've only ever seen/read/heard condemnation of Blade 2 on the internet; I'm glad to find others who appreciate it's unrivaled awesomeness.

It's really a great movie. As the article says, it's a great vampire movie, a great science fiction movie and a great comic book movie, all at once.

They're all great for different reasons.
Blade 1 was a total mind screw that they could do a Marvel comic movie that dark and violent. But it had Stephen Dorff.
Blade 2 is pretty much perfect.
Blade 3, while ridiculous (and the worst of the 3) has very funny moments, some great fights, and the phrase "Cock-juggling Thunder cunt" which combined with the pomeranian made it very enjoyable.

The trick is to find the non-sequiter phrase in each one. Ice-skating uphill, and do you blush come to mind.

@antimatty: I had a lot of trouble with the dialogue in Blade at first, and then partway through, it occurred to me that if I were reading it in balloons over the characters heads in comic book form (which, obv, was where it had come from), it wouldn't bother me at all. For some reason, that simple thought made it really easy to sit back and watch vampires sword-fighting after that. And I thought II was great, too. Not high art, and plenty of clichés, but not mismanaged clichés.

I'm still pretty angry about Underworld, though.

Has to be better than Blade 3. When I went to watch it in theaters, the sound crapped out. We watched it until the end, and didn't miss a thing. We got free movie passes. We didn't use it on Blade 3.

30 Days was good looking and violent. Otherwise it was hindered by stupid people doing stupid stuff like any other vampire film. And the ending was AWFUL.

and antimatty? you didn't like Blade because of cheesy dialogue and lame characters? Well, what the eff was 30 Days then? Because it was exactly the same in that area. Especially that stupid howling. Yeah, they've lived for centuries and they communicate by howling. Talk about Anne Rice BS.

Cheese is cheese. One might be goat, one might be cow. But it's still cheese. So don't criticize one and then praise the other when they both have the same ingredients.

i hated all three of the blade movies.terrible dialog, lame characters , it was all cheesy . not as bad as the goth's wet dream "underworld" but still pretty bad.
in fact the only good vampire movie i have ever seen was 30 days of night. it's not that i dont like vampires, i loved DRACULA, SALEMS LOT, and I AM LEGEND , but i can't stand gothy anne rice crap.

the "team" that blade teams up with in blade II was just a handful of cliche stereotypes. lots of stupid "gear" that has no real purpose . those designs that combine gothy vampire stuff with high tech may look sort of neat, but they are totally purposeless. if you look at something that syd mead would design it looks cool and has a purpose, some of this stuff just has pointy crap attached to it.
