The picture, of City Center, is of a development that IS going to happen (they have the financing, they've pre-sold the condos, etc etc). Cosmopolitan is a much smaller project that was, as happens, poorly planned. City Center is a ~9B USD project that should open in 2010.
And don't worry, I'm sure the Cosmo project will get done eventually; just with new money. Vegas isn't going to have a half built structure standing around.

I stayed in the Mirage which featured a 24/7 channel that hyped up City Center. You really have to see it in person to appreciate how truly massive this site is. I'm sure that parts of City Center will get bought up by some of its casino neighbors. I have a hard time believing that the image-conscious folks in Vegas would let this blight stand idle.

I am constantly amazed just how short-sighted many people are today. Whether blinded by greed, living in denial or just incredibly stupid, there just seems to be no end to the brilliance shown by today's "corporate visionaries". Anyone with half a brain could predict the outcome of the inept paths of destruction taken by these pinheads. They are too busy selling themselves as visionary of out of the box thinkers just to con their investors into financing these dead-end money pits.

Anyone with any vision can see what's coming in the near future. The real "visionaries" would be planning for it.

The world is in trouble and the last thing it needs is more of the same. The out of control development of Las Vegas, in spite of its limited resources, is typical of the mentality that is leading the rush to collapse and the failure of our financial well being.

I have little sympathy for these people. They are reaping just what they have sewn. Karma is a vicious bitch and so is payback. It doesn't take a Sci-fi type or visionary to see the coming changes for the world and our society.

I doubt these people are ready to abandon the old ways because with them, go their wealth, power and comfort.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
