]]> <![CDATA[What Happens If The Galactica Finds Earth?]]> The only way I can rationally and credibly see Earth being portrayed in this series is that it is an Earth not of the past or the 22nd century but of the far and distant future. In this scenario and contrary to the colonials belief that Kobol was the birthplace of humanity, Earth would have been the origin of humankind as it is in reality. Earth would have colonized Kobol first. After catastrophe befell it, 12 of the tribes would have found the colonies and one tribe would have returned to Earth, thus forming the mythos that colonials are subject to.

Rationally, it can't make much sense that Earth was colonized from Kobol, as was portrayed in the original show and alluded in this series. It requires too great of a suspension of disbelief to be palatable, although others might not object to it. If humans came from Kobol it would wipe our paleontological record clean and distort the relationship that humanity has to other living organisms that clearly evolved here. It's extremely troublesome once you get into the details of that scenario.

Perhaps they will find a world decimated by war or some other catastrophe and learn that the only way to survive will be to co-exist with the cylons.

8) Sylar gets fed up slicing open head after head, only to find computer components. Taking control of their navigation systems, he hurls both sides into the sun.

They get labeled as terrorists. Most of the fleet goes on a suicide mission to destroy space faring Cyclon civilization. If it succeeds then the humans on Earth will at least have a chance to expand into the universe if the system of Cylon control is broken.

The remnants of Earth's population assemble onboard a single starship and flee the blasted Earth. These twelve these tribes will journey forth to find a new homeland where they can live in peace, apart from human tyranny.

In time, the cycle will repeat itself.

All this has happene before, and will happen again.

Even though that turned out not to be the case, I'd still put my money on Galatica finding Earth in the distant past, since it fits in with the whole "all this has happened before, all this will happen again" time-loop thing.
