More than anything else, it immediately threatens your air of objectivity - of course, in this case, the vast majority of editors and readers *like* BSG, but when a full site skin runs, it appears as if your very site is being *brought to us* by BSG (a semantic difference from 'sponsored by').

And when that happens, one might question how faithful and honest the content becomes, both in regards to the advertised product in question, and to competitors of the product.

please don't take this to be an assumption or statement that you and the team are anything but above board, but as they say: even the appearance of impropriety is impropriety.

also of note: the brandweek article was live yesterday, the 31st.

* though i suspect there will be a 'close this ad' button as well.
