"all has happened before, all will happen again" please don't make this another convoluted crapfest like the matrix. i'm all for multi-layers and surprises. i'm even happy for there not to be a happy ending to it all, but please wrap it up nicely. i'm getting sick of walking into cafes hearing people argue about lost i don't want to hear people arguing about bsg for the next two years with no resolution as well.

I think it is interesting that no one pays more attention to the episodes on and around Kobol in BSG. I think there's more to that story. Dialog from the time (and even some minor dialog in the mini-series) seems to hint that the "Lords of Kobol" and humans lived side by side. Were the "Lords of Kobol" just powerful humans, or were they something different? Why did humanity leave Kobol? There is evidence that the departure was... violent. Picture the Kobolites (or whatever you want to call them) creating machine servants who eventually rebelled, killed their creators, took their forms (becoming biological themselves), and then forgot who they were (perhaps purposefully)... I've seen this idea mentioned a few times by others, but not as often as I'd expect, what with the "all of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again" line. The cylons were well on their way to repeating this cycle. And what would be found at Earth? The cycle already in progress? Or completed? What would the polytheistic Colonials make of Earth humans who were mostly monotheistic, like the Cylons? Interesting differences: the Colonials still consider the "Lords of Kobol" their gods, but the Cylons do not consider the Colonials as their gods. What if humans on Earth are actually then relatives of the "Lords of Kobol", and not the Colonials at all? At any rate, if its not the real backstory, I still want to know more about Kobol. There's an interesting tale there...

@ratlas and Chimaera: Perhaps Starbuck will "lead the human race to destruction," or whatever the hybrid said, because she and Leoben are actually the Adam and Eve of humanity. They find earth, have a hybrid baby and the cycle starts anew. Hera wasn't the shape of things to come, but the shape of things past.
