The only one allowed to say the name was the High Priest at the ancient Temple in Jerusalem. After the Temple was destroyed for the second time, the line of priests ended and the name was lost.

Sure, they're insanely detailed and make the weirdest connections and 25% the time I don't know what he's talking about, but that all adds to the fun.

The fifth cylon is Joseph Adama. It was forshadowed by Leobin (sic) that Adama was a cylon. We know that both Bill and Lee remember the Joseph, so either of them being a cylon is not realistic from a continuity point of view.

Why Joe Adama? Remember the other attorney from Baltar's trial - he did not like humanity, and he was a lawyer in an attempt to understand why humanity did what it did (murder/stealing/etc). If you are a first generation human cylon, of course you are trying to understand humanity and what it is.

And of course the third party corroboration of Joe Adama makes Lee of Bill being a cylon impossible from the writing continuity standpoint.

The new four cylons are Generation 2. Implanted in the human population as children. Raised as human to provide the cylons with information about humanity.

The last 7 are Generation 3. These cylons were sent in as adults, remember Boomer came from a colony that was mysteriosly destroyed. They have the ability to download there are copies. They do not have to be "grown" like humans.

The last 5 have to be previous Generations, if they had copies the other 7 would know them.

Moore already said none in the photo of the last supper are the fifth cylon- which eliminates Helo, Roslin, Will, Kara, Baltar, and Lee. So that just leaves Dee, Gaelin, the Doc, a resurrected Billy or another minor character as the fifth. Maybe Cain?

I know - what about Kara blowing up? Remember that just about every aspect of the original 70's BSG has been added to this one with a twist. Starbuck flying a raider - did we all catch the "waggle" as she and Apollo returned to Galactica. Going to Kolbol, the pyramids in the original, the temple with the eye of Jupiter in the new. In the original Appolo and Starbuck were aided by "angels" and flew new Vipers. This is the new BSG story line to the old storyline. I doubt that "angels" are going to aid the fleet, but I am sure it will be interesting.

w4766nick

lavardera, I agree with you. Having caught up with BSG by watching the DVD's and then hearing some about Razor- it seems to me that non-aging would be the goal they'd be working towards. The older revealed Cylons as original models makes sense that way.

Between non-aging and resurrecting...living young forever anyone? Even toasters have gotta want to do that- since they're now wanting love and children.

Re: Starbuck's miraculous reappearance with 'brand-new' viper: What about the "Beings of Light" getting involved?
Also, if Peter David's BSG novel "Sagittarius is Bleeding" is to be believed, there are apparently more than 12 models, because he hints at a kid called Boxey being a Cylon, as well, which ties nicely with the "everyone is cylon or hybrid" theory that is being passed around. I have to agree that Zak Adama being brought in as a cylon is a very intriguing thought, considering the conversation between Admiral Adama and Apollo concerning Starbuck.

PagnGeekGrl

I'm pretty sure the president is the cylon, and that getting the transfusion from the first hybrid fulfilled some sort of cylon prophesy. Also, Whats to say starbuck didn't genuinely get whisked away by their god(s) to earth?

What a great show! I am so very sad that its ending this season (although I definately approve of not dragging a good thing out), and I look forward to the influx of science fiction on TV to fill the massive void that it leaves behind when it vanishes. Caprica, as much as I'll be watching, doesn't sound like its going to fill those shoes.

Ddoom

my theory: earth is already populated by humans and cylons (or intelligent AI already called cylons) who get along and coexist peacefully.

the heavy raider starbuck followed and her both find earth. (wormhole? maybe who knows)

earth humans/cylons are all like "well bugger, why are they fighting so much?" and dont want to risk either side finding them and upsetting the peaceful balance they have, at least not at the current time. so they send (after replacing kara's ship, maybe also the cylons. this would be due to starbuck and the heavy raider practically destroying each other, which lead the earthicans to decide they werent ready to be found by such angry people just yet.) back to whence they came, with the intent that neither will remember what happened, but will try to bring everyone back to where earth 'really' is. In fact what starbuck is doing (even though she doesnt know it) is leading everyone to a place/opportunity where the human and cylon will have to work together in someway for the mutual benefit of each other.
also i think this is what is going on with anders/the raider. I think the raider that eyezapped him is acting independently from the rest of the cylons, also going the peaceful route and directing anders to do the same.

or something like that.
we will see!

deucailion

So maybe all this war memories were made up (or he was a centurion during the war *what a twist!*)

Actually that seems to make sense.. does anyone remember where an person on the ship knew Tigh before Adama?

Of course there is the issue with his service record.. but who know maybe that wasn't that hard to fake... maybe they killed a person named Tigh and replaced him way back when.

Samuel played for a number of years as a pyramid baller, so we assume that he was a cylon the entire time.. Boomer was apparently well established...

I think the final five were really the orginal five.. they seem to be considered important to the other cylons.. maybe the predated the other human models.

DocGratis

Maybe they are the first five instead of the final five. Meaning maybe the cylons made them too human and the placed them in human society until they can figure out how to break their human elements. That way they would be perfect for spying and were able to live out their lives/age with out the knowledge of being cylon creations. Six and Sharon would follow their creation since they seem the most sympathetic to humanity. Then the british chick cylon who seems to show to much sympathy to the older cylon models, and then the others after they reached a middle ground. That seems to make sense to me. Then again I'm speculating on a SciFi show, they could pull a Dallas for all I know and have this be a Roslin acid trip.

thechansen

How is it that Tigh could have been a cylon all along? Wasn't he around during the first cylon war, years before they started making skin jobs?

Anyway, here's my theory. The colonists are all descended from the original Cylons who conquered/were exiled from earth and spread out through the rest of the universe. So when they say it's all happened before, that's what it means. The colonists creating a new Cylon race was a natural step in their evolution. It's sort of like what happened with Homo sapiens and Neanderthals.

I also believe the Cylons are now, and perhaps always have been, in control. They view the surviving colonists as an experiment. They want to guide them towards learning the truth of their origins. They just want to see how the colonists will react, for their own existential satisfaction. They're probably not really sure what the point of their own existence is either.

Einstein-Intersection

just finished watching season three on dvd (no cable). i won't be seeing season four until there's a dvd release. but honestly, after the end of season three, i'm shaking my head. the show always looks amazing but they just seem to be scrabbling around constanty looking for a startling idea. it all just seems like a half baked, meandering mess. and what in the name of frak is with the quasi-eastern shit metal cover of hendrix covering dylan? my willing suspension of disbelief snapped. if there was a stupider idea in science fiction, i'm not sure what it is. i have some serious issues with ron moore and his professional hypocrisy but i really want to love this show. i just keep running into the wall, this isn't nearly as good as it ought to be. as a nerd and a completist, i'll no doubt buy the dvds when they are eventually released but there will be no sense of eagerness to do so. who knows, maybe they'll finish off the series with stairway to heaven.

lazlopink

Lampkin's my choice, too. Too knowledgable and cynical a fuck to be never seen again on BG, and there'd be no other need of him unless the stakes were raised -- having to defend the Final Four from a lynch mob, I reckon....

Is is a sin to have fallen asleep after the first showing, when Baltar was shaving? Cause I knew nothing would happen to anyone, tonight, and there'd be recaps... after the adrenal drain of all this (frakking why didn't NBC Uni do this push in earlier seasons, so SciFi woulda got ratings and cash to make the show longer? Frakkin' Bonnie Hammer, oh, yeah, right...) hype, I needed to step off for the night. Am I a bad person?

pink_clerical_collar

Fourth, Baltar does something that most wouldn't think him to be capable of. And lastly, Snape killed Dumbledore.

darundal
