Star Wars has some good ones going for it in the expanded universe stuff. I guess that genes and galactic society at large give most humanoids some leeway, but I guess once you get past supralight travel, a dude with green freckles is just a drop in the bucket.

That alien baby scene in "V" was the talk of the schoolyard when I was in the 6th Grade. I can't believe how terrible it looks in brightly-lit closeup.

"...the original design for the creature featured very prominent male and female genitalia, which they finally removed in post-production. According to director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 'Even for a Frenchman, it's too much.'"

And that is why the film should have been directed by a German.

On the Doctor being "half human": something like that was sort of what the lost Lungbarrow arc (the plot thread in operation at the time of the original show's demise) was leading towards.

Sort of. Except weirder. A lot weirder. But so weird that the statement is weirdly truthful. Now, said plot arc is now no more than unwritten history, but it's worth noting it's a little less absurd than all that.

In other news...Guess I'm the only one who actively liked (yes, LIKED) Alien Resurrection. Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a freakin' genius IMO. (And the Joss Whedon pedigree of the script helps too.)

I'm fine with breaking the rules for the sake of humor, but when there are many missed opportunities on this list and 4/8 don't qualify and you still don't comprehend that?

Even if you only said "mutant hybrids" 2/8 still wouldn't qualify, the 4 "true" half-breeds aren't strictly mutants, and of course, you'd be missing many of the best mutant hybrids.

Sorry, but Annalee pays me to nitpick.

There's too many good hybrids out there tyo come up with a short list, but what a great way to explore the genre!

I nominate the Fly/Human hybrid played by Eric Stolz in The Fly II. The "I'm getting better!" line as the boy genius starts to shed his human appearance is priceless.

I also vote a HUGE no against any Alien(s) hybrid, whether it's the dog alien from alien3 or the Predator Alien hybrids in the comics and movies. I thought it was a gimmick to introduce the idea that the aliens take on characteristics of their host just so they could design new aliens for each movie. I'll stick with James Cameron's drone, warriors, and Queens.

NO Scorpius? - Okay, he wasn't part "human" persay, but the writers always seemed to suggest a link between humans and sebaceans. (the latter being an artifically evolved subspecies.)

And her certainly was the best..er, naddest hybrid anything of them all.

And don't forget most of the creatures in the end of "Slither" were pretty much human/alien hybrids, Grant Grant being the endall of that mess.
