@Lizzie24601: Farmer Needs A Wife sounds like one of those crazy games they play in kindergarten.

Yeah, Genius Boy and Adam are very much alike. I thought it was kind of creepy when GB started chanting along with the Sontarans. Nice touch.

And, no, Martha was not engaged in Torchwood - it was just a boyfriend thing at the time. So, between then and now he's stepped it up a bit.

The ending of Pompeii was so easy to spot, I don't deny that, but I thought the story was really nice and I thought it was cool to see this Doctor go all Dark and Angsty, much like the 9th Doctor.

I know a lot of people don't like Reaper so I won't be surprised when it gets cancelled, but I'm a fan.

It's a really, really well written show, and Bert 'Sock' Wysocki (Tyler Labine) steals the show in every episode.

@Dunny0: I didn't love Pompeii as much as everyone else. Possibly because I called the ending from waaay early on and then was annoyed that nothing went differently than I expected. Also, hated the family.

But no hateful supportings here! Though I'm just gonna compress Genius Boy and first season's Adam into the same character in my head for convenience's sake, 'kay?

And, err, token thread relevance: Farmer Needs A Wife sounds kind of awesome. By which I mean, the title is kind of awesome. Since I only watch reality shows when I personally know one of the participants, I judge 'em entirely by how much I like the title.

@jbq: I'm thinking the Fiancee won't actually play into the series much. I could be very wrong, and would be glad to be, but I get the feeling it was done more as a way to show she's moved on from the Doctor, is now strong and doesn't need him in the same way.

@Lizzie24601: Defenantly less wacky, and all the better for it. I really liked seeing Donna not be screechy for an entire episode. But, I've always had a soft spot for her... Also thought it was pretty cool to see her in Drivers Ed. Wonder how many other companions he's done that for?

It was a great episode, but I'm hesitant to say it was better than Pompeii mainly because Pompeii had a great feel and stands alone quite well. Hopefully part two will be just as good, if not better, and then this two-parter will be the best of series so far.

Jbq, I agree, best this season. (also, I only JUST figured out that "series" means "season" in British, which explains a lot in terms of seemingly hyperbolic statements about best/worst moments of the series).

Each week they seem to be tuning the wackiness meter down one more notch, and now they seem to have gotten the balance back to where it belongs.

The Tuxedo is on of the worst movies I have ever seen. Jeniffer Love Hewitt is not only a terrible actress but she actually makes jackie Chan look bad. And that whole Ass-in-the-face thing is so so so wrong. Only the second movie I ever walked out of the theater in the middle of (Speed 2 was the first.)

On topic, that actually sounds like a fairly decent episode of Smallville. As long as it's got Chloe in a corset (or some other alt-earth "villain" wear) I'm all for it.

I take it you still feel that way after Saturday's episode, and not just in regards to the American running, which would make it only number two?

I thought The Sontaran Stratagem was pure Who gold; maybe not as fantastic as the best of the series, but certainly the sort of show I want it to be: all spiffy comments, fast-pace, great character interaction, and plenty of technobabble! I can't figure out what the Stratagem actually IS, but I suppose that will be explained this week.
