Eh, the only advice I'd offer is to pace yourself. You're a talented man, and I'd personally rather have only a few things from you ever so often for the next 40+ years than a bunch of stuff from you for the next 5 years before you (insert vice) yourself into obsolescence.

Wrestle the American rights to "Life on Mars" away from David Kelly if you want a REALLY great franchise.

Sean Harrington

Come on, everyone says they love Carpenter's The Thing so much (as well they should, it is one of the best horror/sci-fi films evah), but listen to what you're saying! You like it so much, you'd love a prequel? You do realize that it'd be done by people who had absolutely nothing to do with the Carpenter original, right? So it wouldn't be ANYTHING like it, based on the experience we've had with that sort of thing in the past. Instead, it is likely to urinate fiercely on whatever was gold about the original. AvP certainly comes to mind! Leave Carpenter's The Thing alone!
(But go ahead and make a prequel to the Howard Hawks-produced original original, The Thing from Another World. I'm cool with that :-D )

jbq

Who wouldn't love a movie with big giant robots or super intelegent aliens that can shoot stuff out of their hands? Neither of these games have too much plot so it would be easy to make a TV series or a movie and still stay faithfull to the story.
Caves of Steel would be fantastic but the books are so good I am sure that anyone trying to make a movie would mess it up.

reddingofish

The quest for the Dark Tower could be another Ron Moore series with a beginning, middle, and end. It's got a little of everything: the collapse of modern society into chaos, future technology used for evil, a little wild west, giant cyborg bears, parallel Earths, witches and magic, monsters, you name it, King threw it in there.

Xenocidal Maniac

My wish is: I want him to do a deal with HBO or Showtime to produce a cop show based on Greg Bear's Queen of Angles. The transhuman issues are there, the AI is there, the space exploration, the relationships and crime. I think this guy could do the story justice, and he could show Mary Chow in all of her pitch-black full frontal, glorious nudity. Besides, series TV offers more to fans than just a 2 hour movie that takes way too long to make. Once this new series get off an running we could get years of it.

Jeff-Minor

Of all the episodes Moore wrote for Star Trek "Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places" was the only one which contained enough true Science Ficiton to my liking. The first mini series parts of BSG were fun, but the rest was all soap opera wiht no science in it like much of DS9, unfortunately. I wish that Moore would leave Science Fiction. He's watered down the genre so much that it,s nothing but backdrops.

ndgmtlcd

Agreed with the "no more sequels, prequels, remakes, tweenquels, spinoffs, etc."

With rare exception, that is exactly the sort of crap that's killing filmed science fiction. Something new, whether it be a new television series or film trilogy. Anything new.

Add something fresh to the genre, rather than just reheating leftovers or building on top of someone else's franchise.

Whitworthian

I'm all for either a new sci-fi movie series, or a new interpretation of the I ROBOT books by ASIMOV. He did an excellent job with the concept of human/robots and it would be great to see what he does with that.

I'm skeptical about the VR series, but honestly after BSG, I'll give any of his projects a chance.

Kounji

Nooooooooo you people are so short sighted. If anything called for Moore's reimagineering it's Asimov's Robot Books. Ron Moore at the helm of "The Caves of Steel" would be as inspired as Jackcon's LOTR Trilogy, and just as marketable. It would give him more room to explore the while Human/Robot meme he's developed in BSG and do it from a different POV. Gritty Noir Caves of Steel? Can I get a 'HELL YES'? I knew I could.

ChrisKelvin

Bleh, I hate mafia movies. So Caprica is out. Virtuality sounds like it could be good. That stargate atlantis episode where Ancients are travelling and keeping engaged via VR was interesting. There were some crappy VR flicks and cartoons done in the 90's, so I wouldn't mind seeing what could be done after a decade.

Priam
