I found it hard to choose from the list provided, since a large percentage is "WTF?" - I mean, "an unnamed scinece fiction trilogy" ... Winkin Blinkin and Nod? Or Restoration "that we don't know much about"?
I like the guy, but sheesh, give a bit more information please. Otherwise, it's no wonder we end up with BSG prequels and II-Ripoff Asimov's Corpse.

You like it so much, you'd love a prequel? You do realize that it'd be done by people who had absolutely nothing to do with the Carpenter original, right? So it wouldn't be ANYTHING like it, based on the experience we've had with that sort of thing in the past. Instead, it is likely to urinate fiercely on whatever was gold about the original. AvP certainly comes to mind! Leave Carpenter's The Thing alone!
(But go ahead and make a prequel to the Howard Hawks-produced original original, The Thing from Another World. I'm cool with that :-D )

Who wouldn't love a movie with big giant robots or super intelegent aliens that can shoot stuff out of their hands? Neither of these games have too much plot so it would be easy to make a TV series or a movie and still stay faithfull to the story.
Caves of Steel would be fantastic but the books are so good I am sure that anyone trying to make a movie would mess it up.

The quest for the Dark Tower could be another Ron Moore series with a beginning, middle, and end. It's got a little of everything: the collapse of modern society into chaos, future technology used for evil, a little wild west, giant cyborg bears, parallel Earths, witches and magic, monsters, you name it, King threw it in there.

The transhuman issues are there, the AI is there, the space exploration, the relationships and crime. I think this guy could do the story justice, and he could show Mary Chow in all of her pitch-black full frontal, glorious nudity. Besides, series TV offers more to fans than just a 2 hour movie that takes way too long to make. Once this new series get off an running we could get years of it.

My tuppence: No more prequels. I'm tired of the constant back-steps Sci-fi seems to be taking. Enterprise was a huge mistake, as were the Star Wars prequels. For those reasons alone I can't get excited over Caprica or a proposed prequel to The Thing.

My money's on a new trilogy because there's a sore lack of episodic epics being released in cinemas right now.

The first mini series parts of BSG were fun, but the rest was all soap opera wiht no science in it like much of DS9, unfortunately. I wish that Moore would leave Science Fiction. He's watered down the genre so much that it,s nothing but backdrops.
