@EBone: There was to be a sequel to ID4, even some scenes were shot. However, it died...

For a good TV series was the British Survivors. Not an alien attack but a man made plague. Same out come of having to rebuild society. The first season / series was great. Do yourself a favor and stop there.

Oooh, aftermath is nice. Very good setting, I think, and underused. d20 Apocalypse, a subset of the Future campaign rules, has a number of sample settings (plague, bug-alien invasion, and - my favorite- Rapture) that set you up to explore the world after we collectively bite it. Along with some fun rules, etc, it has some of the most creative campaign elements to come out of WotC. "and then what happens....?" is a very fun question to ask.

I've checked out the book and I'm loving it. I look at it as being The Walking Dead sans Zombies. Real compelling stuff thus far. I'm always hesitant to see movie licensing when a title is in its infancy.

There was a movie called "The last train" (The Canadian title was "Cruel Earth"). It about a small band of Asteroid impact survivors. They survived by being 'frozen' in a subway tube and emerged many, many years after the fact.

For a British made for TV mini series, it was pretty good.

Gundam has covered it all. ALl you need to do is jack one of the bug's giant mechas, which oddly enough lack any sort of lock out technology like access codes, biometrics, or key&lock.

Also, Neo-Genesis Evangelon, since the events happen after the first major attack.

Kinda reminds me of the premise behind DMZ, in a way... If you're not familiar with it, DMZ is a comic about the realistic effects of modern US civil war and is based in NYC.

I checked out the online first issue, but have not had a chance to read the series in paper form yet. I was very much impressed with the story and drawing, and think the subject is rife for exploration. Here is to hoping the movie doesn't have Tom Cruise in it.
